2011: Here We Come!

I cannot believe that another year has come and gone (well almost)!!  This past year has been a crazy one and we have not had the opportunity to post much over here at Our Medical Lives.  Just a quick recap . . .

The hubby completed his internship and officially started his residency in Anesthesiology!  In fact, I don't even think that I shared the good news that this past fall, he even was named Resident of the Month!  He has had a multitude of amazing experiences and often comes home talking about what he got to do and participate in that day!  We anticipate 2011 to bring even more amazement to his plate, as well as very long hours!

The kids have amped up their schedules with my oldest starting team sports this year!  Amazingly, we only each missed one soccer game this year, which we find pretty darn amazing with our schedules these days!  This winter will bring even more games on the basketball court and we can only hope that we are able to make just as many, if not more!

I have stayed busy working full-time, volunteering for the AAOA (Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association), chauffeuring my children around town for school and activities, and trying to squeeze in a bit of reading and writing time if I'm lucky.  I've even been considering a return to school myself in the next few years, or maybe in the shorter term, a class or two in the semesters to come.  To be quite honest, I have felt so stretched that I have been thinking I need to downsize my load a bit in the new year.  Sooooooo . . .

Here at Our Medical Lives in 2011, I am not sure how much I will be posting or not!  I refuse to shut down the site because of the wealth of information and advice shared through my research and our guests.  I may or may not pop in.  I may or may not have others share their thoughts.  The resident may or may not pop in as well.  Feel free to subscribe to us and follow us.  You never know what you may get while we continue to adjust to our crazy schedules.  I've got a list of things to share.  Some writing on this list of topics has already been done, but it is currently sitting in queue awaiting the final touches.  I've got a lot to share and write about . . . just not the time to do it.  However, we are ALWAYS available to answer emails and ALWAYS answer every email that we receive!

Long story short . . . Don't give up on us.  We are still here, surviving the residency years!  And, we will stop in every now and then . . . just not on a regular basis!

We wish you the best of luck in 2011, wherever you may be in the journey!

I came across your blog from someone elses and just wanted to say Congrats on "Resident of the Month" and most of all, matching in Anesthesiology to begin with! I look forward to following your journey!
